The first Marvel Comics property with an Asian lead. Looks like a kung fu picture. Black Panther was an enormous hit, so this feels like the follow-through from that! Doctor Strange has plenty of Asian characters too, so a crossover would be lovely!
And then the title! Looks like the Ten Rings are involved!
Did anyone spot it?! These Ten Rings are actually not making their first appearance!
Right — the terrorists who kidnapped Tony Stark in the very first Iron Man were the Ten Rings! It’s stated outright in that film, so the setup has been there since day one!
Then Iron Man 3 brings in the Ten Rings and the organisation’s boss, the Mandarin, properly at last!!! Or so it seemed — and he turned out to be a fake.
But the bonus short attached to Iron Man 3 has a scene where the real Ten Rings make contact with that fake Mandarin. So the real Ten Rings and the real Mandarin have been on the cards ever since.
The head of a criminal organisation that rules over China and other territories. A genius intellect and a master of martial arts. He claims to be a direct descendant of Genghis Khan. He fights using the power of ten rings recovered from an ancient spacecraft that came from Fin Fang Foom’s planet (laser beams, impact beams, flame projection, an ice blast, a black light beam, electricity, a vortex, matter disintegration, matter transformation, mind control and so on).
And now the real Mandarin and the real Ten Rings arrive!! So excited!!!!
Playing him is Tony Leung!

Out 25 March 2022! Apparently it has a horror flavour!
The villains look like Nightmare and Mordo!
Nightmare is, as the name says, apparently unbeatable inside a nightmare! Mordo showed up in the first Doctor Strange, the senior student who parted ways with Strange over their differences.
The multiverse at last! In Spider-Man it turned out to be a lie, but this time I could not be happier!
And Wanda is in it too!! Which means the WandaVision series covered further down is apparently worth watching first!

Directed by Taika Waititi, same as the third Thor!! His films are so good that expectations are enormous!!!!! Although his live-action AKIRA has been frozen, which is a bit of a shame… Still, more Thor, and that joy wins out by a mile!!
The story apparently has Valkyrie travelling all over in search of a new king/queen? Something like that!
And Jane, played by Natalie Portman, is back!!! She had a brief moment in Endgame so there was a hint of it coming, but this is the best!!!
A while back the shock news that the new Thor would be a woman went round the world, and the comic really did come out.
The story has Jane, who fell in love with Thor on Earth, taking up Mjolnir to help a weakened Thor and inheriting his power.

So apparently Jane transforms into the God of Thunder, just like in the comics! Mjolnir is broken though — how on earth does that work?! lol

Seriously!!!!!!! Blade, of all things, is getting a reboot!!!
Remember him?? Blade is a vampire hunter who fights vampires, and he’s half vampire himself. They made it all the way to a third film back in the day.
And playing him is Mahershala Ali!
The man has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor twice!! An actor of that calibre joining the MCU… I cried.
You can hardly drop vampires in out of nowhere, so how he gets folded into the MCU is the interesting bit! Through the multiverse, maybe…?

The service launching in the US in the second half of 2019 is called Disney+, and apparently it carries everything Disney owns — not just the animated films but live action, drama series, the Star Wars films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of it.
In Japan it has already started, under the name Disney Deluxe. From June 2020 it relaunches as Disney Plus, and by the sound of it all sorts of original Star Wars and Marvel series will land here almost simultaneously with the rest of the world!
Already signed up here. The library is smaller than Netflix and the rest, but the quality is seriously good.

This one is an animated series
What If…? was announced back in April 2019 and is scheduled to stream in the US on Disney’s service Disney+ in summer 2021. Based on the comic series of the same name, it takes key moments in the MCU and plays out the “what if” versions that never actually happened. According to an earlier announcement, episode 1 will be “what if Peggy Carter had been given the super-soldier serum, and a scrawny Steve Rogers had joined the fight in one of Howard Stark’s armoured suits”.
