Hello!
Today it’s WandaVision episode 6, which dropped on Friday 12 February — the points worth flagging, the theories, and predictions for where all of this goes next.
Quick notes on everything that caught my eye on the first watch, the Easter eggs, and a proper verdict at the end.

WandaVision is built on The Vision, volumes 1 and 2. That run was extremely well received and apparently picked up a stack of awards.
I also picked up the Japanese book Marvel Taizen, released 21 January 2021 — the kind of book that gets you a very long way into Marvel Comics in one go. I’m planning to work through it slowly on days off.
256 pages sounds short, but it’s a large-format book, so picture one of those big Shogakukan illustrated insect encyclopedias. Which means I’d say the amount of information in it is on another level compared to anything else on the shelf. And it came out in 2021, so it’s current lol
And then there’s this, obviously!
Looks like there’s no Full House parody coming… because Netflix holds the rights to Full House, maybe?
The parody for episode 6 is Malcolm in the Middle, which aired from 2000 to 2006!
A comedy about the assorted things that happen around Malcolm, a boy with an IQ of 165 — at home, at school, everywhere. The show is packed with devices: Malcolm speaks his real thoughts straight down the lens, sound effects play before flashback scenes, and so on.

What’s the parody next time? Hannah Montana?
Though going by the trailer that’s out now, it might turn into a behind-the-scenes thing (details in this article’s “After finishing episode 6”)

Those lyrics map straight onto how chaotic everything has been up to episode 5, which is great fun lol
Above all, I think they capture Wanda’s own thinking — this world is only an illusion in the end, but let’s enjoy it anyway
Also, the recording gauge at the bottom left of the image above sits at about two thirds — presumably because WandaVision is nine episodes in total, so episode 6 lands right on two thirds?
And the lyric playing over the shot where Vision appears in the opening — the line about all of it being an illusion — was loaded with meaning
Agnes does turn up in part of the opening, but
in this final cut Agnes doesn’t appear
That looks like a hint that Agnes isn’t part of Wanda’s family = the enemy?
Every character’s Halloween costume is based on their outfit from the comics.

Let me break down the effect used when the Fox Pietro moves at speed
The above is a shot from episode 6, and I compared the effect here against the Fox version and the Disney version.
The scenes I compared, in the video above, are

Hmm~~ compared with the Disney version, where the blue trail lingers for a long time, the Pietro who’s turned up this time does look like he’s running the Fox version’s effect
Tommy is on the right and Billy on the left. In the comics Tommy goes by the hero name Speed, and his real name is Thomas (Tommy) Shepherd. Billy, meanwhile, is the hero Wiccan, real name William Kaplan. The two of them were beings Wanda created with magic because she desperately wanted a child with Vision, a synthezoid who can’t father one. After that a lot happens and it seems they get reincarnated. The full comics background is below.

Child of the Scarlet Witch and Vision, and one half of a set of twins. The other twin is Wiccan. A child should never be able to be born between a mutant and an artificial human, but he was made real by the Scarlet Witch’s reality-warping power.

He is in fact one of the children of the Scarlet Witch and Vision who should never have been able to exist. He was made real by the Scarlet Witch’s reality-warping power. He has been “reincarnated” into a Jewish couple’s family, so he has human parents as well.
Reality-warping power. He uses it like “magic,” but instead of reciting a spell he simply says a wish out loud over and over until it becomes real. (His speech balloons in these moments run the same sentence on and on with no full stops.) The drawback is that he never knows when the spell has taken effect. It is said he may become a god-like being in the future.

Incidentally, Wiccan is apparently gay, so going by the way things have been trending lately, the MCU’s Billy looks likely to be gay as well.
In WandaVision too, the twins look like they’ve got the super speed and the magic straight from the comics.
The Fox Pietro says that when they were little he and Wanda dressed up as lice, but that scene doesn’t add up.
Here’s why. There’s a scene in X-Men where the Fox Pietro’s little sister appears (he’s called Peter in those films), and that girl is said to be Wanda. But the scene was cut before release, so plenty about it stays unclear. The important thing here is that there’s a big age gap between the Fox Pietro and his sister
And in episode 6’s flashback to the lice costume, the girl with him is quite clearly the same age as the Fox Pietro. So the look, the personality and the power effect are all the Fox Pietro, but the memories seem to be the Disney Pietro’s. That said, given that at the end of episode 5 he asked who Vision was, and that Wanda herself has no memory of this lice costume, what you can draw out is the hypothesis that the Fox Pietro actually had a twin sister.
In other words, the Fox Pietro who’s been showing up since episode 5 is the Fox version through and through in both look and memory, and the girl who appeared in the lice costume scene is the Fox Pietro’s twin sister, still unseen in the Fox films. So maybe the scene with the young sister was cut from the Fox version to keep all of that consistent.
But in the scene after that
he says that, so… it’s a mystery…
Hayward hammering on about how Wanda has to be killed was about as suspicious as it gets.
You’ve always been on the side of the Enhanced.
You were close to Carol Danvers.
The ones who blipped out are still optimists, I see.
You people know nothing.
About how hard it is to protect the world.
Going by those lines, he feels angry at a world being jerked around by the Enhanced, and looks like he may even hold a prejudice against them.
As for why it’s the Fox Pietro who’s turned up as Wanda’s brother this time, the Fox Pietro himself says
(The reason I look different) is that you don’t want to remember the past, right
and that makes sense, so it’s probably exactly that. Though what I do wonder is how Wanda was able to open the multiverse, and why she needed to open it at all…
Vision said he was heading out on patrol so the kids wouldn’t get up to any Halloween mischief, but he was actually out searching Westview. Looks like the distrust of Wanda that blew up in episode 5 still hasn’t cleared.
The ads in WandaVision trace the timeline of her life. Episode 5’s was about the civilians accidentally killed in Lagos.
So following that timeline I thought the next one would be her destroying Vision’s Mind Stone in Infinity War, but this time it wasn’t.
The ad goes like this. A claymation kid is on a desert island with a crab. “I’m starving. I’ll eat anything,” the kid says. Then a shark on a surfboard turns up. “I used to be hungry all the time too,” says the shark.
“What did you do?” asks the kid, and the shark answers, “I ate YOMAGIC.”
The shark hands the kid a YOMAGIC and swims off. But the kid is shaking too badly to open it, and slowly withers down to bones and dies.
The tagline at the end is “YOMAGIC!!! Eat this if you want to survive!”
Watching it normally, there’s no telling at all which part of Wanda’s life it stands for.
But if you keep in mind that it points at Infinity War, then perhaps this ad can be read as the scene where Wanda destroyed Vision’s Mind Stone. The Avengers did kill Vision in order to survive, after all.
There’s one more way to read this ad, which is that it might be describing the WandaVision series itself. That is: Wanda is crushed by losing Vision, the mastermind behind the show appears in the form of the shark, hands her YOMAGIC — magic, in other words — and sets this whole incident off. It’s true that Wanda’s abilities are science-side superpowers produced by the Mind Stone and HYDRA’s technology, and she can’t use magic. But the Wanda in this show changes her appearance and has been powered up compared with before.
So who is the shark? Surely it has to be Agnes (Agatha). On the Agnes-is-Agatha theory, see here

Though Agnes here feels a little like she’s acting
I’m still backing the Agnes = Agatha theory, so maybe Agnes tried to control Wanda, failed, and is now stuck in a position where she can’t get away from her?
And as for why she made contact with Vision this time — maybe she’s trying to break the deadlock by making him realise he’s a dead man? Or rather, did she wind Vision up because she foresaw that Wanda would expand the Hex?
Just “who” was Monica planning to receive that device from up on the hill?
If it turns out to be a character who’s appeared in the MCU before, that’s exciting! But the scene got skipped over, so it’s probably nothing special lol
Monica has passed through the barrier twice — once when she first sneaked into Westview, and once when Wanda threw her out.
Something has changed in Monica’s body as a result.
That was already clear as of episode 5, and going forward she looks set to be out there as Photon, a hero who can turn her body into light. Details here
And my prediction is that this phenomenon is going to be enormously important later on! Details in this article’s “After finishing episode 6”!
Apparently Wanda kept the children off the show because being a regular in that world puts a heavy strain on the brain. A good scene, and one that shows Wanda still has some kindness left in her.
Also, it looked like even Wanda doesn’t remember how she created this world. She says as much in the exchange with Vision in episode 5.
And after Endgame, it seems all Wanda had left was loneliness and emptiness. Somebody probably took advantage of that.
Wanda has finally started seeing visions of the Fox Pietro’s death. And his body is riddled with bullet holes, his eyes clouded white. Vision’s death vision had the same clouded white eyes, and they come round so often that it also feels like a third party is showing her these visions.

But the barrier is pulling him hard back in
And his body is falling apart…
You want out that badly?
That line from Hayward struck me as a bit loaded lol
Also, Monica’s clothes weren’t torn to shreds when she got pulled through, so it’s strange that only Vision falls apart like this. On the other hand the Mind Stone in his forehead stays pristine, so — can’t say for certain — the mastermind does look like they’re after the revival of the Mind Stone, a by-product of Wanda bringing Vision back. Or going further, all of the Infinity Stones.
And since it looks like she brought him back using the body of the Vision who died in Infinity War, you’d expect him to adapt to the outside world — so this much rejection is curious as well. The cross-section of his crumbling body being a sort of dull yellow? That bothers me too
Vision trying to save everyone and collapsing to the ground is a sad thing to watch…
A glimpse of Billy’s powers, a heartless remark from the Fox Pietro — this was an episode that let you get to know the Wanda family properly
To save Vision, Wanda expands the Hex, and Darcy and almost every S.W.O.R.D. agent get absorbed into that town.
The ones who look like they weren’t caught up in it are Hayward, Agent Woo and Monica. Do they work together in episode 7? Or does Hayward finally show his true colours…
