[Spoilers] Loki Season 2 Episode 5 [Analysis & Easter Eggs]
Spoilers for Loki season 2 episode 5, which dropped on Friday 3 November 2023! A rundown of the episode plus the analysis, the Easter eggs and where all of this goes next.
This post runs briefly through the things that caught my eye on a first viewing and the Easter eggs, and then gets into the analysis.

A recent hobby
Started shooting all sorts of things for fun lately. The camera is an α7 IV — shoot in RAW, edit in Lightroom, that kind of thing.
Easter eggs, trivia and analysis
Episode 5, “Science/Fiction”
Episode 5 picked up right from that shocking end to episode 4!
For some reason Loki and Sylvie (because they’re Loki Variants?) weren’t affected by that spaghetti effect! Maybe it doesn’t work on them because their lifespans are so long? Pretty sure episode 1 said something about ageing in an instant. Ah, but Sylvie did go spaghetti at the very end of this episode!
And at the end of episode 5, Loki awakens! It isn’t about rounding up the gang — turns out that as long as he holds on to his feelings for them he can move through time and space at will!
So does episode 6 start from that scene at the end of episode 4 where everything had gone past saving? Besides, with a power like this he could pull off absolutely any prank he wanted! So strong!
Time to go through the trailer and analyse the scenes that haven’t aired yet!
There’s also a shot of someone wearing the prisoner suit that’s so familiar from the TVA!
And the spaghetti effect is visible over on the right!
Which would mean a trip to the place from season 1 episode 1?
There’s a scene of Loki heading for the Temporal Loom as well! Is he going in unprotected because the spaghetti doesn’t work on him?
Ravonna was pruned in episode 5, but the place pruning sends you to is the Void, so that’s where Alioth is!
Ravonna and Alioth might be acquainted, so maybe Ravonna & Alioth come attacking together?
The team’s original lives
All of them from fairly recent times!
Ouroboros and B-15 were exactly as I’d pictured them!
The surprise was Eugene being a criminal lol
Fully expected him to steal a TemPad and cause all sorts of trouble, so glad it never came to that~
Mobius the jet ski salesman
The reason Mobius was so hung up on jet skis was that he sold jet skis for a living! To think he was handling loads of them day in, day out lol
And then there are the kids… The kids matter to him, so maybe in season 2 episode 6 Mobius goes back to this time and raises them… A lovely way to say goodbye, I think…
Zaniac
Never expected Zaniac to turn up again lol
What’s Brad Wolfe up to now? He’s technically still an enemy, so I’m a bit worried he might pull something…
