Today I’m going to write about What If…? episode 5, the MCU show that dropped on Wednesday 8 September — the points I want to flag, the analysis and review, and my predictions for where all of this goes next.
In this article I’ll briefly write up the things that caught my eye on the first watch and the Easter eggs, and then write the analysis.

I’ve started shooting all sorts of things for fun recently. Camera is a ZV-1, shooting RAW and editing in Lightroom.
This time I shot the science museum in Ueno.
This week it was what if there had been an unknown virus in the Quantum Realm they went to in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Absolutely wild way to set it up and it made me laugh lol. Surely they just wanted to put zombies in it, I thought.
The Wasp attacking with her swarm of insects was just like Shino from NARUTO and seriously strong!
In the original Infinity War history the two of them chose separate paths in Civil War and never properly made up until Endgame, but here they had already patched things up, and that was a moving touch.
Kurt, one of Ant-Man’s crew, turns up! Surely this is another one where they just wanted to do the Baba Yaga bit lol
The reason for ending up as just a head — something about the zombie infection having been cured — is so wishy-washy that it made me laugh
In the WandaVision series it was Wanda who went off the rails, but here Vision goes off the rails too when it’s for Wanda, and that was great
Vision taking his own Mind Stone out links back to the main story a little, and that was nice
Zombie Thanos, who turns up at the very end, looked seriously cool. Maybe the snap turns every living thing in the universe into a zombie?
All in all an episode that messes about way too much lol. Season 2 looks like it could do a shark episode, or a zombie episode part 2 lol
