[Spoilers] Secret Invasion Episode 4 [Analysis & Easter Eggs]

Massive spoilers for Secret Invasion episode 4, which dropped on Wednesday 12 July 2023! A rundown of the episode plus the analysis, the Easter eggs and where all of this goes next.

A recent hobby

Episode 4, the death of Talos

His daughter G’iah was alive after all, but then Talos of all people goes and dies…

This one feels like it might genuinely be for real… Would rather he got a proper goodbye with Fury, so maybe it’s someone else… maybe…

Loved that the soldier who called him an alien and went to shoot stopped straight away once Fury talked him round.

G’iah comes back

Turns out G’iah had picked up the power of Extremis from the Super-Skrull machine!! Insane!

Settling things with Varra

That whole exchange with Varra had me so tense lol

And about the call between Varra and Rhodey being listened in on — she deliberately left her phone sitting in front of Fury in the previous episode, so it reads like she let him hear it.

And the fact that it gets settled with each of them fine about being killed by the other was really good.

That beaming smile of hers once it’s all settled let the tension go in one go~

Rhodey is a Skrull

So Rhodey was a Skrull in disguise after all lol

The one inside looks like a female Skrull.

The face-off scene with Rhodey had me tense as well lol

Never expected them to have footage of a murder being carried out wearing Fury’s face… Rhodey asks whether there’s poison in it and gets told there’s nanotech in it, and that turns out to be the truth rather than a joke… lol

Gravik’s powers

Finally a scene where he uses Groot’s power!! Wonder if he can multiply from a cutting the way Groot does too? lol

Curious about what the Cull and Frost Beast powers look like as well! Hardened skin, monstrous strength and freezing, maybe?

Fury has found out about this power too, and it’ll be fun to see how he handles it~

Talos’s plan

Talos’s plan is to have the President let them live here as a reward for saving Earth, which is close to keeping things exactly as they are, so of course his daughter G’iah is against it~

Looking forward to seeing where the Skrulls end up in the end!
