What I’ve been into lately
Started shooting all sorts of things for fun recently. Camera is a ZV-1, shooting RAW and editing in Lightroom.
This time it was Chichibu.

Episode 8, “What If… Ultron Won?”
The branching choice

This week it was plain and simple — what if Ultron won!
Thanos gone in an instant

Partly a running-time thing, but Thanos being killed in an instant got a laugh out of me lol
The shield destroyed

Turns out that once Ultron has Vision’s body in hand, even Cap’s shield can be destroyed!
Arnim Zola

Never saw it coming that what looks like the key to beating Ultron would be Arnim Zola! Had no idea Zola was actually there at the site of the final battle in Civil War. Either way, though, on the Sacred Timeline he should have been buried in the rubble and destroyed, so Zola isn’t on the Sacred Timeline any more.
Alexei Shostakov / the Red Guardian’s shield

Alexei Shostakov, the Red Guardian’s shield, was in there! It’s an item belonging to the man who counts as Black Widow’s adoptive father, which is why she got that fired up about it in the episode lol
An Endgame homage

In Endgame it was Black Widow who fell and was gone, but this time it’s Hawkeye — a wickedly clever bit of staging.
A battle of gods

The Watcher turning out to be, presumably, even stronger than Captain Marvel was a real surprise! And Ultron eating a whole galaxy — what is this, Gurren Lagann?? was all I could think lol
Multiverse Avengers

The scene where The Watcher decides this can’t go on and makes up his mind to ask the heroes for help — electric!
After watching episode 8
Where this goes next
Just as predicted, it really was one long story running across episodes 7 to 9!

The finale looks like it’ll either be the heroes from every What If…? episode assembling to take Ultron down, or a to-be-continued into season 2! Getting the MCU’s first cross-multiverse team this early…!! Genuinely can’t wait!
