[Linked to Shang-Chi?] Ms. Marvel Episode 3 [Super Minor Villains Arrive! Episode Rundown]
Ms. Marvel episode 3, out on Wednesday 22 June! I’m going to write up a rundown of the episode plus the Kree Nega-Bands, the link to Shang-Chi, the key points, the analysis, the Easter eggs and where all of this goes next.
This post runs briefly through the things that caught my eye on a first viewing and the Easter eggs, and then gets into the analysis.

A recent hobby
I’ve started shooting all sorts of things for fun lately. The camera is an α7 IV — shoot in RAW, edit in Lightroom, that kind of thing.
What I shot this time is Hakone.
Episode 3: Destined
The Kree’s hand
The bangle turns out to have been on a Kree’s arm! So it really is based on the Nega-Bands from the comics.
For reference, the Nega-Bands are powerful relics of the Kree Empire from thousands of years ago, and by converting mental energy into physical energy they can apparently grant the wearer astonishing power.
Aisha appears
I had Kamran’s mother, the one who turned up at the end of episode 2, pegged as maybe being Aisha — but no!
The Ten Rings
These ruins from early in the episode!!! They’ve got the crest of the Ten Rings on them!!!! Come to think of it, the Ten Rings are also an item that grants mysterious power, and in the film itself they fight the dark creature on the other side of the Dark Gate — Phase 4 really does fight enemies from another dimension a lot!
That man from this temple that Najma talks about — is that Shang-Chi’s father, Xu Wenwu? Ah, this is exciting!
Najma’s crew
I was sure Najma was going to turn out to be the enemy, but for it to happen within a single episode… lol
Does this whole crew just keep on fighting with alien weapons… or do they get bodies of their own later on and start using powers…?
The ClanDestine
The villains this time seem to be a group of djinn called the ClanDestine!
In the comics the Destine family are descendants of Adam Destine and Elalyth the djinn, and they’re apparently a group of superhumans. Honestly they’re a pretty minor set of villains, so there is next to no material on them… lol
The Noor Dimension and Dr. Selvig
There’s a paper on the Noor Dimension, and its author was Dr. Selvig, the man we know from the Thor films! lol
Want him turning up again in Thor: Love and Thunder as soon as possible lol
Kamala’s mask
Kamala’s mask was a present from Bruno! Ahh, those two really are made for each other! Want them to stay together for good lol
Wonder how the University of California business is going to go.
After watching episode 3
Off to Karachi
Kamala’s grandmother saw the train as well, so it looks like she’s someone with the same powers as Kamala. And Karachi is apparently a place in Pakistan. So I’m guessing the Karachi stretch starts next week! Can’t wait!
How does the ClanDestine get away from Damage Control?
The ClanDestine have ended up caught by Damage Control, but how are they going to break out from here? Maybe Damage Control’s federal agent Cleary is secretly a Skrull and gives them a hand from the inside? Looking forward to it!
